About Department:                                                                         

Sanskrit is a storehouse of boundless precious information of Ancient Indian Heritage. There is an earnest requirement for learning mining from Ancient Sanskrit writings for scaffold working between the past and the future through the present. Keeping this in view, an interesting exploration arranged Department of Sanskrit Studies was built up in 1997 which will go about as an interface among Sanskrit and the sub-fields of the Humanities, Social Science and the Sciences. 

                                   The department has been following the syllabus prescribed by Board of Studies in Sanskrit set up by the SK University,ATP. Students studying Sanskrit as second language have been highly successful with a pass percentage of above 95. The progression of the students has also been good. This is all because of the efforts of the lectures and the semester system.


                                              There are one faculty member in the Department. Dr.K.Kasi Visweswara Sarma  was appointed in the year 1999 on regular basis.  He is highly qualified and competent with a brilliant academic record.  It is because of his sincere efforts and the support of the management the student strength of the department has increased year after year. He has taken part in the faculty development programmes like orientation and refresher programmes, seminars, conferences and symposia organized by the Universities, Institutions and other literary societies from time to time. He has published many articles of academic, research and general nature in various journals, books, newspapers and magazines of great repute.

                       Dr.K.Kasi Visweswara Sarma also served as a member of Board of Studies in Sanskrit at S.K. University, Anantapur. He delivered more than 50 All India Radio Talks.  He has participated as Pruchhaka in many Astavadhanams. In and around Anantapur district, he delivered around 10 valued based talks.
